Inspired by contemplation of the harmony between water and land, this original watercolour and gouache painting celebrates the nourishment that water gives life. A grandmother tree is considered the oldest tree in an area and amongst traditional and indigenous peoples is a sacred place to find shelter, reflection and connection to the land. Just as the grandmother sees over the family, the grandmother tree watches over the land.
My reflections led to this illustration which was entered into the Unearthodox "voices of regeneration" call-out and therefore may be periodically used in their communications. It however will not be reproduced and sold. This is a special painting filled with the omnipotence of our earth and its unmistakble interwoven relationships between all species.
It is A3 in size, signed and packaged in a clear sleeve with hardboard backing.
