About Me

I can still recall the smell of my childhood pencil box: that happy blend of woody pencils and waxy crayons. I loved art as a child and it bloomed alongside my love for nature, a love which was nourished by living in regional Australia. Thus my story begins with days spent swimming salty seas, exploring scrubby bushland and imagining fairies in the creek on my friends farm. Like every coming of age story, there were adventures to be had and roads to wander. 15 years, 2 degrees, 2 cities and a lot of life later I found myself back in the country and coincidentally back in front of my own paper, pencils and paints.

In 2023 I re-discovered and fell in love with the glorious partnership of watercolour and gouache and as they say the rest is history. These are my primary materials and almost everything on my website is shaped through these mediums; capturing the duality of watercolours free and fluid expression and gouaches tenacious detail.

My artworks are an expression of all my loves; the incredible oddities, curiosities, diversity and colour of our wild world and the everyday forms that end up instilled with the magic of memory, nostalgia and delight.

I am also enamored by the complex threads of our stories and our connection to place and how each can be captured visually through map-making. I am always so honoured to capture a love story, a lineage or an adventure through a hand-painted map. Equally so to be entrusted with the delight of pet portraits or commissioned artworks.
